London university esports teams to compete in Varsity Games

On Thursday of last week, Gfinity announced that in association with Varsity Games its Fulham Broadway arena will play host to the inaugural Varsity Games event: London University eSports.

The event will focus on Dota 2 and is set to take place on November 26th. The press release read: “Join us for a day of esports and gaming at the Gfinity Arena & Studios, as four of the best London University Dota 2 teams compete for honour and glory at the inaugural Varsity Games event.”

The universities from the capital taking part in the inaugural event will be King’s College London, Imperial College London, The London School of Economics and University College London will descend upon the Gfinity Arena on November 26th, as they battle for the Varsity Games London trophy.

The post on the site continued: “In addition to the inaugural Varsity Games Dota2 tournament, attendees will be able to experience the world of esports and meet the Gfinity team who work on producing live esports tournaments as well as a variety of activities; including an overview of “Esports and Competitive Gaming in the UK: A Summary and Future Possibilities”, clueQuest, ‘a real-life escape game where teams of players have to race against time to complete a mission using common sense, logic and teamwork’.”
