Technology and data provider Genius Tech Group has revealed that it has partnered with Riot Games Oceania to provide ‘a next generation tipping solution’ to Riot’s followers.

The platform, which has been customised for esports, will cover all matches in the Oceanic Pro League of League of Legends. In 2016, 43 million unique viewers watched the League of Legends World Championships, with further growth expected in 2017.

Jared Hopping, Co-Founder and Partner at Genius Tech Group, commented: “We are very pleased to be partnering with Riot Games as we expand into the esports sector. League of Legends is the number 1 title when it comes to esports and coupled with our world-leading technology, Riot’s Oceanic fans are set for a terrific experience.”

Daniel Ringland, Esports and Competitive manager at Riot Games Oceania added: “Tipping against your colleagues and mates on the cricket, footy, etc. is a popular fan activity in Oceania. I’m extremely excited to provide League of Legends esports fans with the same engagement opportunities.”

Esports Insider says: League of Legends fans in Oceania are likely to be pleased with this one. It’s a region where tipster competitions and betting is highly popular and the option to compete against friends will be one that a fair few should engage with.
