Gfinity reveal Counter-Strike: Global Offensive as the first game for the Challenger Series

Gfinity has today announced that Counter-Strike: Global Offensive will be the first game title in the Gfinity Challenger Series

The Gfinity Challenger Series provides a platform for Counter-Strike players of any ability to showcase their talent and potentially earn a place in the Gfinity Elite Series

The premise is simple; build a profile and play the game. “G-Points” will gauge a players relative ability on the Gfinity Challenger Series leaderboard and simply put, the more a competitor wins, the more G-Points they will earn and the higher they will climb.

The top thirty in the Challenger Series will qualify for the Elite Draft, which provides the opportunity for two players to be drafted by a professional team to compete in the Gfinity Elite Series. The Elite Series will see eight professional teams compete over a ten week season. The competition is set to take place live every weekend from the Gfinity Arena, London.

Martin Wyatt, Head of Partner Relations at Gfinity told ESI: “The Challenger series represents the first step of a totally revamped and redefined pathway for people to succeed in esports. Being totally open to anyone that wants to take part people will quickly see that we have developed a robust, rewarding, exciting ecosystem that not only creates multiple participation opportunities for players of all levels but also provides a clear progression path for those with the talent and desire to push themselves towards the pro-ranks.”
