Cannes will soon play host to the Esports BAR, an event taking place between February 12-14th. There’s a host of content across the three days, with Esports Insider involved in two panels across the two days.

First on the menu for team ESI is “What football clubs are doing in esports (and why it matters)”. The panel is made up of Dennis Andreas Nirtl, the CEO and Co-Founder of Stark Esports; Pedro Silva, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Qwatti Esports Agency and Sergio Benet, General Manager of Valencia. The panel will look at how football clubs are entering the space and the various approaches that clubs have taken. There’s been a real assortment of approaches – but what works best?

This is the second iteration of the Esports BAR in Cannes

There’s no better way to celebrate Valentine’s Day than being in the South of France with an idyllic backdrop listening to Adam Savinson, Head of Esports at Betway Group share insight with James Watson, Head of Esports at Sportradar and Suraj Gosai, Co-Founder & CEO of Blinkpool. Pulling the strings, and keeping the panel on the straight and narrow will be none other than the bastion of esports integrity, ESIC Commissioner Ian Smith.

The panel will look at the challenges around esports betting and consider publishers will become more open to betting sponsors in the future. Other panels and speeches at the event include a presentation on the Blockchain Effect on esports from Millennial Esports CEO Alex Igelman, esports sponsorship and an interesting look at China – considering often inflated and questionable figures coming from the East. There’s a host of speakers lined up, with the likes of Wouter Sleijffers, CEO of Fnatic heading out there as well as Ralf Reichert, CEO of ESL and Patrick Chapman, Gaming and Esports Partnerships at Facebook.

Esports Insider will be in attendance for the entire event so do not hesitate to get in touch and arrange a meeting using [email protected].

Sam Cooke, Editor of Esports Insider said: “The event looks like it’ll be a corker out in Cannes and we’re excited to have worked with Esports BAR to help bring two panels on topics that we consider of great relevance to the industry. The speakers are each fantastic so if you’re out in Cannes, don’t miss them”.
