The NA League Championship Series (NALCS), has announced a partnership with State Farm just in time with the series getting underway once more. This brand new sponsor is currently working in traditional sports – such as the NBA and the NFL – and its partnership with the NA LCS marks its first venture into esports.

The insurance and financial company will also be the North American sponsor of the 2018 League of Legends World Championship, Mid-Season Invitational, and the All-Star Event. As a result of this partnership, there will be a NA LCS State Farm Analyst desk, offering expert analysis and in-depth breakdowns of matches that take place within the series.

Ed Gold, the Advertising Director at State Farm, said in a statement: “We have a long and proud history of partnering with sports leagues, teams, and their passionate fans. We’re so excited to become a part of largest esports community in the US with this NA LCS sponsorship and look forward to supporting LoL fans each week from the State Farm Analyst Desk.”

Co-head of LoL esports, Jarred Kennedy, also discussed the partnership. “It’s thrilling to see a high-profile, traditional sports sponsor like State Farm recognize the value of esports, and we’re honored that they’ve chosen the NALCS in particular to start.”

“Having State Farm come on-board is a great step forward for us and our fans. Welcome, State Farm, to the North American League of Legends Championship Series!” he continued. The NA LCS, and its Analyst desk, both launched into action last night with 100 Thieves taking down OpTic Gaming and Team Liquid emerging victorious over Team SoloMid.

Esports Insider says: It’s really encouraging to see another traditional sports sponsor make the leap into the world of esports, and features such as the Analyst desk will definitely supplement the viewing experience of the NA LCS.
