One of many things we love about esports is that there’s never a quiet week – there’s always a plethora of big industry happenings. This week has lived up to that statement!

The biggest stories this week include Razer partnering with yet another competitive organisation, Astralis forming a partnership with eSports.com, a Croatian football club has entered Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, and Heroes of the Dorm is offering up $1,000,000 to one lucky person.

Team Queso enters two-year partnership with Razer

Spanish mobile-only esports organisation Team Queso has forged a two-year partnership with gaming equipment company Razer. This venture will see Team Queso’s players compete exclusively on the Razer Phone.

The organisation currently competes in titles such as Clash Royale, Vainglory, Hearthstone, and Arena of Valor. It already has partnerships with Gamerswalk, SuperEvil Megacorp, and Brillatne.

Astralis forges long-term partnership with eSports.com

Astralis, eSports.com

Astralis, a Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team ran by RFRSH Entertainment, has entered a long-term partnership with eSports.com – a website that wants to become the “go-to platform” for the industry.

No specific details have been announced, but both parties have made it clear that exposure is one of the key metrics of the partnership. eSports.com is investing over seven digits into the deal.

Croatian club NK Rudeš announces CS:GO roster

Yet another football club has entered the esports industry – this time it’s NK Rudeš. The Croatian side currently competes in the top flight of its national scene, and has now entered Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.

The team’s CS:GO roster is currently competing in Battle4Split, a tournament that also includes League of Legends and FIFA 18. The team’s through to the LAN Finals in Split, Croatia on 18-20th May. It’s also worth noting that the team plans to announce its League of Legends roster in the near future, too.

Heroes of the Dorm offers $1,000,000 to anyone who predicts entire bracket

Heroes of the Dorm

Heroes of the Dorm is a college tournament played on Heroes of the Storm, and if you can predict the entire outcome of the 64-team bracket then you’ll receive $1,000,000 (£707,290).

Heroes of the Dorm is currently into bracket play, with each match now being streamed on Twitch. This part of the tournament will run from March 28th to April 29th, working towards The Heroic Four – the semi-finals of the tournament. Each member of the winning team will be rewarded with tuition for their college careers.
