Sherman has almost a decade of experience in the sports industry, spending time at Major League Baseball working in business development, digital marketing, and sponsorships, and acting as Director of Corporate Partnerships at the Los Angeles Clippers for almost two years.

Gen.G has called upon Sherman to help the organisation reach fans in three key markets: China, Korea, and North America. His goal will be to “bridge the gap between east and west and evolve universal esports lifestyle and culture.”

Jordan Sherman, Head of Sponsorships and Revenue for Gen.G commented on his new venture: “Esports is the future of professional competition and Gen.G is at the forefront of the esports industry with its global reach. I’ve seen first-hand how MLB and NBA partnerships can drive revenues and reach business objectives for our clients and I am excited for esports to further develop into the next frontier for even greater results. Connecting premier brands with Gen.G and engaging such an amazing fanbase is an incredible opportunity, and I look forward to elevating the Gold Standard esports experience.”

Kent Wakeford, COO of Gen.G added: “We are incredibly fortunate to have premier talent such as Jordan join the Gen.G team. Jordan’s unique experience working with premium sports and digital brands provides Gen.G with invaluable contacts and resources to further engage Gen.G’s valued fans.”

Gen.G was previously known as KSV Esports, rebranding in May as an effort to establish itself as a leading organisation in the industry.

Esports Insider says: Bringing experienced figures over from traditional sports is something we expect to see a lot more of over time, and it’ll likely benefit esports as long as those people understand that it’s a different beast. Sherman having as much experience in digital channels as he does is key for Gen.G.
