Western Digital sponsor Lightning Pandas’ Call of Duty team

Western Digital will become the first sleeve sponsor for the Lightning PandasCall of Duty roster.

Lightning Pandas relaunched last year, after being acquired by social media communications agency Kairos Media. After that three year absence, they now have teams in Call of Duty, FIFA and Fortnite. Their CoD team recently won the Canadian CWL National Circuit Stage 3 event finishing with an 8-1 record, they now competes in the CWL Pro League Challenge where they are set to play in the Semi-Final against Enigma6. Their FIFA player recently attended the FIFA eWorld Cup event in Amsterdam.

Western Digital is a familiar name in gaming, a brand known for their HDD and flash storage technologies, a crucial component of any modern esports setup, from PC to console.

This partnership will see Western Digital and Lightning Pandas engage with fans at events, giveaways and bespoke content, featuring players from Lightning Pandas and products from Western Digital.

Michael Craddock, CEO, Lightning Pandas, had this to say about the partnership with Western Digital: “As the organisation continues to grow, we’ve been searching for a partner who shares our vision for the future and is excited to join us on our journey. From our initial conversations with Western Digital, it was clear that we shared the same passion towards esports and I’m incredibly excited to build a long-lasting partnership with them.”

Esports Insider says: Since their relaunch, Lightning Pandas have made a lot of good moves, their CoD side is performing well and their FIFA players are attending big events. Fortnite is still without any real esports scene but it’s smart to jump on the bandwagon before the floodgates open. Western Digital is a big name sponsor, and while they are only sponsoring the Call of Duty side, for now, it’s positive news for the organisation.
