Dexerto has announced a collaboration with SCL, a leader in provision of independent education provision through sport in the UK.

The esports academies will offer government accredited esports courses. The successful students will graduate with a BTEC Level 3, a qualification considered equivalent to three A-Levels.

It comes as SCL expands its independent education offering into the burgeoning esports sector – potentially creating a wealth of opportunities for both teachers and students alike.

The first job role on offer is a “Project Manager” to oversee the initial launch of its first esports academy. Full details on the role and how you can apply can be found here. The academies themselves are in the early stages of fruition, with very few deeper details revealed as of now.

Esports Insider says: With the British Esports Association launching recently and now SCL looking to enter the space to offer formal, government approved courses in esports it’s a brighter time for the grassroots esports scene in the UK. We’re intrigued to see further details of the course and, if it’s considered to be equivalent to 3 A Levels, the scope and difficulty of the course.
