The Team SoloMid and Sean ‘sgares’ Gares drama has eventually resulted in the org dropping their entire CS:GO roster, but the five didn’t have to wait long (just a few hours in fact) to find a new home with Misfits announcing they’d signed them on Saturday.

Gares and TSM parted ways in late December over the PEA dispute (read more here) and the players then voted to play in the ESL Pro League over the PEA (read more here).

In a press release Gares stated: “I want to thank Ben and the entire Misfits organisation for trusting in me and providing the five of us with a new home. Our new agreements with Misfits not only provide us with great support – we have also used the opportunity to work with Misfits to address and improve key industry issues that all players currently face.

“Our contracts with Misfits set new standards for players’ protection and rights in areas like personal sponsorships, unreasonable benching procedures, and of course how our league participation is decided.”

As per the video above Misfits, who revealed an investment by Miami Heat just last week, are continuing to expand at a rapid rate. Indeed they may be the fastest expanding in esports globally right now. An ESL Pro League spot courtesy of the outgoing TSM makes for an excellent weekend’s work for Misfits.

There’s a podcast from Sirius XM and Kevin Knocke featuring Miami Heat’s Michael McCullough and Misfits’ Ben Spoont discussing the partnership and their plans for it which is certainly worth a listen.

Esports Insider says: Misfits aren’t slowing down, and Gares and co. have well and truly landed on their feet after quite a mess.
