Facebook Live to stream exclusive PUBG content

Bluehole Inc., the publisher of PLAYERUNKNOWN BATTLEGROUNDS, has today announced that it will livestream exclusive PUBG content via Facebook Live.

This will begin today, July 10th at 7:00 – 10:00 PM (PDT) and will occur four times a month at the same time and same location. Bluehole will livestream PUBG gameplay on its own Facebook page. Each live video will showcase different elements, starting with games hosted by one of Bluehole’s community managers. The weekly livestreams will then alternate hosts between content creators from the PUBG community and Bluehole’s community managers.

Chang Han Kim, VP and Executive Producer, Bluehole Inc commented: “This new initiative with Facebook will bring our passionate fan base closer to our development team.

“Livestreaming has been very important to the growth of PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS. We believe that featuring PUBG livestreamers on Facebook further strengthens our commitment to the community while extending the reach of our game to a global audience.”

Leo Olebe, Director of Global Games Partnerships at Facebook stated: “Facebook and the Bluehole team have a shared belief in the power of gaming communities, and PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS is a stunning example of a hit game guided directly by its fans.”

“Battlegrounds is just as much fun to watch as it is to play, and we’re excited to see some of the best PUBG creators bring exclusive content to Facebook to help fuel its growing community on the platform.”

PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS was only released in late March and has rocketed up the charts with over four million units sold. Bluehole Inc, a Korean studio founded in 2007, has previously only worked on MMOs and the game TERA had been its biggest success to date; the MMORPG saw over 25 million users worldwide.

Esports Insider says: Millions have already taken to PUBG and are hooked. Facebook has done well to secure ongoing exclusive content, and as the game’s esports scene grows these type of streams should prove evermore popular.
