Fnatic, a team which has been around since 2004 and currently fields teams across nine games, have released a new generation of their Fnatic Gear peripheral range. Four new products have been added by the company, with two new keyboards and two new mice added to the collection.
It has also been confirmed that a deal has been struck with Best Buy, which sees the company become Fnatic’s exclusive retail partner in the USA. The retail giant operates over 1,000 stores across the nation, and Fnatic products will be available in over 300 of them.
The project has been spearheaded by Felix Guerra, a veteran with over 20 years of experience in product development gear for gamers, alongside a team of experienced engineers and designers. Guerra has been part of the Fnatic Gear project after joining in January 2017 from Corsair. The “Fnatic Gear Generation 2” line features: STREAK, a “super-thin, fully RGB mechanical keyboard optimised for esports”, the miniSTREAK, a smaller version of the STREAK, and the CLUTCH 2 and FLICK 2, updated version of the current peripherals the company produce.
Felix Guerra, Fnatic Head of R&D and Engineering stated: “It’s been an incredible experience being invested in end-to-end product development of the Fnatic’s Gear Generation 2 line, which took two rigorous years to perfect. The team spent countless hours listening to feedback from players and fans, to create the product line that’s fully loaded with new features and built-in functionality to give gamers everything they need to perform.”
Sales of the new peripherals will be available at the Fnatic Shop, in Europe through Amazon and through this new partner, BestBuy.com in North America. The products will be available in Best Buy stores by the end of the month.
On the deal with the technology chain, Sam Mathews, Founder of Fnatic stated: “At Fnatic, it is our mission to help bring esports into every household in the world, and the partnership with Best Buy, a household name across North America, is another important step on the way. The relationship between Fnatic and Best Buy represents a unique opportunity to make outstanding esports equipment available to millions of gamers and continue contributing to the rapid growth of the esports industry.”
Esports Insider says: More peripherals coming from Fnatic! The line has proved successful enough to keep developing on, and an exclusive new deal with Best Buy in the USA shows there’s more room to grow in the consumption of esports. It’ll mean a lot more eyes on Fnatic products too.
