Envy Gaming Inc. manages and controls Team EnVy which also operates the Dallas Fuel in the Overwatch League. Last year Envy relocated its headquarters to Texas following an investment from the Hersh Interactive Group.

Ken Hersh, Chairman of the Hersh Interactive Group, stated that he believes Moore has a proven track record of guiding sports teams into new markets: “With esports revenues expected to surpass $1 billion in the coming year and our unique position as the hometown team in the best sports market in the country, we feel well positioned to rapidly accelerate the growth of our Team Envy and Dallas Fuel brands under Geoff’s leadership.”

With experience in major traditional sports organisations, Moore will also assist Envy Gaming as it looks to build an arena for the Dallas Fuel.

Mike Rufail, Owner and CEO of Envy Gaming said: “As we explore expanding into new esports titles such as Fortnite, adding revenue streams around our core competition and content business, and engage in local discussions and design planning for an arena to house Dallas Fuel home matches, Geoff’s experience is a perfect fit to push us forward in this industry. Envy is excited to welcome Geoff back to Dallas and we look forward to esports being his next great career accomplishment.”

Moore stated: “I’m fortunate to be joining Envy Gaming as esports is emerging as a powerful force in the sports and entertainment industry. Advancements in technology and connectivity have made competitive gaming’s potential a reality. No other sport or leisure activity comes close to connecting a truly global audience numbering in the hundreds of millions. And no other sport has so few barriers to participation or enjoying world-class competitions. Helping to grow that experience in North Texas, for fans to engage with esports in the physical world and digitally, is an exciting next chapter for me.”

Team EnVy currently holds rosters in Call of Duty, Rocket League, PLAYERUNKNOWN’S Battlegrounds, Paladins and is expanding into Fortnite.

Esports Insider says: A huge move for Envy Gaming as it adds such a veteran of traditional sports community. Bringing Mr. Moore was definitely necessary as Envy Gaming and Team EnVy continue to expand to other titles and establish an esports arena for its Overwatch League team.
