Warriors Gaming snags NETGEAR sponsorship

NBA 2K League team Warriors Gaming has announced the organisation’s first sponsor coming from Nighthawk Pro Gaming by NETGEAR.

Much like other NBA 2K partnerships, this deal will include Nighthawk signage and placement of the logo on the teams home court. The two will also work together to create digital content around the team throughout the season as the team will now exclusively play on Nighthawk routers and switches.

Warriors Gaming is one of 17 teams in the inaugural NBA 2K league season as an affiliate of the NBA team, the Golden State Warriors out of Oakland, California. The team recently ended the season in 16th place with a 4-10 record, tied with Kings Guard Gaming.

Hunter Leigh, Head of Esports for the Golden State Warriors said: “We are excited to partner with a Bay Area brand with such high esports pedigree. NETGEAR, via the company’s Nighthawk Pro Gaming brand, provides us with an authentic voice as we collaborate to create engaging content throughout the season for Warriors Gaming Squad fans throughout the country.”

Heidi Cormack, Senior Vice President of Global Marketing for NETGEAR commented as well: “It is an honour to become the first sponsor of Warriors Gaming Squad. The alignment of Nighthawk Pro Gaming with professionals who use our products is integral to showcasing the best networking setup for online competitive gameplay.”

To celebrate the partnership, Warriors Gaming and Nighthawk will host an open event at Esports Arena in Oakland on Monday.

This is the first major sponsor for the Warriors Gaming squad. NETGEAR’s Nighthawk also holds sponsorships with Ninjas in Pyjamas, PENTA Sports, NRG Esports, Gen.G and Overwatch League teams Seoul Dynasty and San Francisco Shock.

Esports Insider says: It’s exciting to see how much the NBA 2K League continues to grow as it is currently wrapping up its inaugural season. This endemic sponsorship for Warriors Gaming looks good not only for the team itself but for the betterment and legitimization of the league as well.
