Scythe Esports introduced the Beard Club as its new sponsor through a press release.

The North American team announced its first non-endemic sponsor, the Beard Club. Scythe is an up and coming organisation with rosters competing on Starcraft II, Hearthstone, Heroes of the Storm and Brawlhalla.

On the press release, the Beard Club stated: “Scythe’s camaraderie and vision resonated with us over at the Beard Club. We throw our full support behind a team that is going to continue to achieve great things. Their position will continue to grow in the gaming field and we hope their beards do too!”

Scythe was created back in November 2017 by Anthony “Toast” Williamson, a former caster and host of a talk show about Starcraft on Twitch. The founder and manager is in charge of a growing roster that now includes renowned Starcraft player, Joo “Zest” Sung Wook. The Korean player recently finished in second place at the 2018 Global StarCraft II League Season 2: Code S, celebrated in Seoul.

In a conversation with Esports Insider, Williamson said: “We both just saw the potential for growth and luckily they are esports fans and wanted to get involved. I also have a beard and use their products, so I had reached out to them.”

As part of the sponsorship, Toast and the bearded members of the team are creating content, including funny videos to promote the products.

Schythe is now getting ready to compete at Dreamhack in Montreal from September 7 to September 9 in Canada. The organisation is taking part in the Brawlhalla, Hearthstone, and Starcraft II tournaments.

Esports Insider says: The Beard Club has been involved in esports for some time now. The company is constantly promoting its products with popular streamers like Yassuo. This new partnership means a bigger involvement and also a major cornerstone for Schythe.
