The Summer Split finals will take place on September 7th and 8th in Athens, with a venue still to be confirmed. This will be the first time Greece has played host to a European Championship finals.

“We are very excited to bring the LEC Summer Finals to Athens for the first time. Greece has some of the most passionate players in the world, and we’ve been looking forward to the day we could bring an event to them. said, Seth Pyrzynski, Live Production Manager, Riot Games.

“It’s an exciting time for League of Legends in Europe, G2 Esports proved that we are a region to fear by winning the Mid-Season Invitational and the rest of the teams are hot on their heels. We can’t wait to bring the LEC to Greece and put on our greatest show yet to end our inaugural season with a bang!”

LION Cereals has been named the main partner for the event. Previously, in 2017 LION Cereals sent 100 French fans to the EU LCS Spring Finals in Hamburg as part of their Wildest Fans activation. This year the brand will once again engage with the fans at on-site activations. It has been confirmed that more information about all the community activities, as well as ticket availability, will be announced in the coming weeks.

Since its rebrand at the start of the year, the LEC has welcomed a long list of partners. Beko was announced as the global home appliance brand, Red Bull as the official energy drink supplier, DXRacer as the official gaming chair provider and Foot Locker as the jerseys provider for the on-stage referees.

Esports Insider says: It’s exciting to see that the LEC is heading to a brand new location for its Summer Split finals. Additionally, the introduction of another partnership shows just how well the LEC is doing under its new branding.
