Mark Weller, COO of Vexed Gaming will act as Chief Gaming Officer for Cooldown Ventures, gaining strategic responsibility over the company’s teams. Sonny Waheed has been appointed as Co-director and Chief Marketing Officer of the company.

Pei-Zhi Liou, CEO and Co-director of Cooldown Ventures discussed the acquisition: “As esports moves into its next phase of evolution, we believe now is the time to instigate the principals that will make esports an even more thriving and exciting environment. To achieve this, a renewed look at how the community evolves, structures and engages is essential. At Cooldown Ventures our combination of knowledge in traditional entertainment and technology industries along with a deep engagement with esports provides us the tools and creative thinking needed at this particular moment in esports history.

“Being able to leverage the wealth of esports knowledge and experience that Vexed Gaming brings, is an unparalleled opportunity that we could not turn down. We are delighted with the current rosters and are committed to supporting them in achieving their global potential. Moreover, we are delighted to work with some amazing partners to bring innovation, new thinking and opportunities to the wider community.”

Esports Insider says: A lot of UK-based organisations struggle to really branch out and make the most of the global audience that esports has. Vexed Gaming has done a decent job so far and it’d be nice to see this acquisition help to propel the organisation into a similar light that Excel Esports has been occupying recently.
