Chris DeAppolonio, President of Houston Outlaws discussed the hire in a release: “As we aggressively build the OutlawsXP Inc. brand, our homestands are a major priority for us. We are counting on Jeff to help us flawlessly execute entertaining events that help us grow our live and local presence in Texas while delivering strong ROI for our partners.”

Beasley Media Group bought Houston Outlaws from Immortals Gaming Club in November, though financial details haven’t been disclosed. In December, Esports Insider spoke with DeAppolonio about the acquisition and the franchise’s future.

Lori Burgess, Chief Digital Content Officer at Beasley Media Group also commented: “As we build out the business arm of the Outlaws, we see a heavy event docket-from nationally televised events, to medium and smaller events throughout the year in the Houston, Austin and San Antonio markets. We plan to leverage Jeff’s logistics and esports marketing expertise to deliver on our revenue and fan engagement goals with the Outlaws in their home state of Texas!”

Esports Insider says: It’s good to see Houston Outlaws finally get the support it needs now it’s under new ownership. It’s clear to see the path of Zajac’s change considering he was previously at Renegades, but it’s an important hire nonetheless with Overwatch League adopting a new format.
