Australian organisation Chiefs Esports Club has agreed on a deal with Menulog which sees the food delivery service become a major partner for 2020.
Menulog will supply The Chiefs’ players and content creators with contact-free deliveries from local restaurants throughout the year.
The agreement will kick off with some “special deliveries” arriving live-in stream tomorrow to several players and content creators at The Chiefs, with vouchers for fans to win. The announcement also teased “upcoming ways to share dinner with your favourite content creators” as well as opportunities to win Menulog meals at future tournaments.
Nick Bobir, CEO of Chiefs Esports Club, expressed his satisfaction with the deal: “Menulog is a great partner to work with and a natural fit for gaming and esports. They see the strong affinity with our industry’s culture and we couldn’t be happier to announce them as our official Food Delivery Service partner.”
Menulog, which is part of the Just Eat group, describes itself as “Australia’s widest-reaching online food delivery service”, with more than 2.6 million active customers and over 18,900 local restaurants connected through its apps and website.
Simon Cheng, Marketing Director at Menulog, also spoke on the partnership: “Esports and Menulog is a match made in heaven. This is an incredibly exciting and ever-evolving industry, as is the food delivery space. We’re excited to announce our sponsorship of The Chiefs and are looking forward to building a long-term partnership, supporting both local talent and local restaurants.”
Founded in 2014, Chiefs Esports Club is a prominent organisation in Australia with partnered streamers and professional players in several major titles, such as League of Legends and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.
Esports Insider says: Delivery services and esports organisations have often partnered in the past, and during the current crisis, the two industries are as well-matched as ever. With several community-focused activations, Menulog’s partnership with The Chiefs stands to be particularly engaging for fans.
