Centred around Unikrn’s sponsorship of Relog’s upcoming CS:GO event, 9to5, ESPORTS MILLIONS is a “free-to-play, live prediction game” where fans are asked 10 questions across the next few weeks. The three fans that achieve the best record will win gaming computers, with any fan that scores a flawless record being eligible to win the jackpot.

Thomas Warburton, COO of GRID, spoke on the venture in a release: “We aimed at encapsulating the excitement of a high stakes wager and combining it with friendly competition. As fans, we love to look at esports and contest the next breakout stars, ESPORTS MILLIONS hopes to take the significance of the fans’ opinion to a whole new level. We could not think of a better partner to help us premiere ESPORTS MILLIONS than Unikrn.”

The event starts on June 29th and will run through to September. Teams in attendance include North, MIBR, Godsent, OG, Havu, fore, and Team Spirit.

Karl Flores, CPO and CMO of Unikrn, added: “Million dollar prize pools are commonplace in esports, but this is the first time esports fans could become millionaires themselves. We host a hyper-engaged community of esports fans. Pairing GRID’s data-driven questions, our customers’ prowess, and our tips tools, we’re looking forward to a CS:GO fan making esports history.”

Esports Insider says: This is a very interesting method of increasing fan engagement for an event. The purse for this initiative is generous, to say the least, and we’re looking forward to seeing the response to it. GRID has done plenty of great things since launch and this is just another example of how forward-thinking it is.
