North American organisation Dignitas has made its first steps into the Chinese esports market through a streaming partnership with HUYA.
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive players Patrik “f0rest” Lindberg, Christopher “GeT_RiGhT” Alesund, and Adam “friberg” Friberg will start streaming on HUYA from August 1st, per a report from The Esports Observer.
Financial terms of the partnership were not disclosed. This is the latest HUYA partnership to be announced in recent months. Team Secret entered a multi-year deal with the Chinese streaming platform in May, and Team Liquid re-upped their current arrangement in June.
Esports Insider says: China is currently the largest esports market in the world, so reaching this growing market has understandably become a priority for outside organisations. HUYA is taking full advantage of this, and it will be interesting to see how partnerships of this type help grow esports brands outside of their home countries.
