EMERGE Esports already has a roster of roughly 40 esports athletes and gaming personalities including popular DOTA 2 streamer Dominik “Blackˆ” Reitmeier, renowned Singapore-based cosplayer “XIAOYUKIKO“, as well as 2019 SEA Games participant and former captain of EVOS SG’s Mobile Legends squad, Robert “Oh Deer Bambi” Boon. EMERGE also currently manages Kingsmen, a Singapore-based esports organisation that fields teams across Mobile Legends Bang Bang, VALORANT and PUBG Mobile.

Moreover, the agency has established working relationships with sponsors and brands including Redbull, SteelSeries, Royale Ergonomics, Embily, StashAway, Reubiks Academy and Partea. EMERGE reportedly aims to serve as an incubator hub for both endemic and non-endemic businesses to engage with esports and create a collaborative ecosystem between brands and esports organisations.

On the launch, Pang Xue Jie, Chief Gaming Officer of EMERGE Esports said the company is “excited to be part of this journey which will pave the path for many youngsters and gaming enthusiasts to pursue a career in the esports industry. We would like to establish an ecosystem that nurtures all budding talents in this field and not just the esports athletes.

“Esports is competing closely with traditional sports, garnering millions in revenue each year. Gaming has evolved beyond a hobby for many and we believe the launch has come at an opportune time. Given its accessibility and rising popularity, it will not be a surprise if esports surpasses traditional sports in revenue in near future.”

The agency’s offline marketing campaign, labelled ‘EMERGE Against All Odds’ took inspiration from Singapore’s rag-and-bone men, or ‘Karang Guni’, who go door to door to collect and recycle unwanted household items. The agency sent out its own ‘Dream Collectors’ to speak with local residents and workers in Singapore about their dreams and life goals when, as noted by Pang, “the younger generation [is] settling in jobs for its source of income rather than pursuing what they are truly passionate about.”

Esports Insider says: A dedicated agency for the esports scene in Singapore is a big plus for the country, and the Southeast Asian region as a whole. Having already attracted a number of endemic and non-endemic sponsors, the agency looks to have made some solid early steps.
