As a result of the deal, Gscience will provide ‘tailored esports performance coaching and workshops’ to Prodigy’s roster of esports athletes, which includes the likes of CS:GO player Mathieu ‘ZywOo’ Herbaut, VALORTANT’s Oscar ‘mixwell’ Cañellas Colocho, League of Legends’ Paul ‘sOAZ’ Boyer.

Jérôme Coupez, Founder & CEO Prodigy Agency commented: “Our main mission with Prodigy Agency is to take care of and support our players from all angles. Health, wellness and performance is obviously one of the most important verticals for esports players, especially with the current global situation, and it was important for us to find the right partners.

“Gscience are pioneers in esports health and performance and I’m really looking forward to developing and building the best support on that regards for our players around the world.”

Throughout the partnership, Gscience will complete ‘performance audits’ on Prodigy’s talent roster to create the tailored programmes for each individual player to ensure that optimal health and wellbeing methods are being used.

Both entities will also work together on mental health awareness initiatives to support the esports and gaming industry.

On the announcement, Ryan Scollan, Co-Founder & CEO Gscience stated: “After speaking with Jérôme and learning more about his reason for starting Prodigy Agency, I knew immediately that we were a great fit for one another. Both companies believe in and understand the importance of taking care of the players and building a  healthy and sustainable ecosystem for all gamers. We are excited to work with and share our knowledge through the world-class talent that prodigy has on their roster.”

Jamie Kiff, Co-Founder & CSO Gscience added: “With COVID-19 restrictions in place worldwide we have seen a rise in the number of gamers reporting physical and mental health issues. As such, this partnership with a leading esports talent agency couldn’t come at a better time.”

Gscience became the very first winner of The Clutch, Esports Insider’s pitch investment competition, back in September 2019. The latest edition took place yesterday as a part of ESI Digital Winter, and taking home the trophy this time was Interactive Productline AB.

Esports Insider says: Prodigy Agency’s partnership with Gscience highlights the agency’s strong commitment to player health and wellness. In recent months the esports industry has taken significant strides in providing gamers with performance programmes to bolter physical and mental states. Whilst Prodigy may be the first esports agency to name an official performance and health partner, the likelihood is the firm won’t be the last.
