The 16-piece apparel and accessory line will be focused around Team Liquid’s mascot, Blue, alongside classic characters from the tokidoki brand.

The new partnership is tokidoki’s first venture into esports, although the company has collaborated on gaming-related products in the past. Coinciding with the launch of the new products on November 19th, tokidoki will take over Team Liquid’s digital channels to promote the merch line.

tokidoki will also conduct an “invasion” of the Team Liquid Training Facilities in Santa Monica, California and Utrecht, The Netherlands as part of the launch. Additionally, Team Liquid will host an art contest for the collaboration, with an Apple iPad and Pencil up for grabs.

Logan Leavitt, Apparel Business Manager at Team Liquid noted that “apparel at Team Liquid is all at once product, content, and engagement. When we consider a collaboration within that framework, we’re looking for synergy in all three. With tokidoki, we found those elements in a shared spirit of fun, art, and geek culture.

“As Liquid Apparel, we’ve taken our quality to the next level in 2020, and this partnership is an opportunity for us to put our best foot forward not only for TL fans, but for tokidoki fans as well.”

The new merchandise line also features a significant number of products for women, a market that Team Liquid is looking to provide more for. Leading the collaboration is Team Liquid Apparel Designer, Gabrielle Renfro, “I’ve been a huge fan of tokidoki for so many years now (I have shelves and shelves of blind box Unicornos), so being able to bring tokidoki’s signature whimsical and bold style to Team Liquid was both great fun and quite the challenge.

“This collection was also one of my first chances to create quality custom pieces unique to women, which has been a huge bucket list item for me here at Team Liquid. All the pieces coming to the store fit so nicely together, no matter what combinations you choose. I can’t wait for everyone to get their hands on these pieces!”

Esports Insider says: This is a cool new collaboration between the two organisations. With Liquid renewing its partnership with Marvel just last month, the organisation will no doubt continue to have a strong merch line in the near future.
