Red Bull Racing Esports opens sim racing facility in Milton Keynes

Based in Milton Keynes, Red Bull Racing Esports have opened a ‘state-of-the-art’ sim racing training facility, set to be named by fans.

The facility will be the new home for the Red Bull Racing Esports Team, with the drivers using the space to train leading up to major competitions, and in some instances, utilising the establishment to compete.

According to the press release, the Red Bull Racing Esports facility will not only help improve the current skills of its 12 Team drivers, but will also be used as an academy hub to ensure that the organisation continues to ‘give wings’ to young sim racers.

The facility is divided into four main areas: the training area, competition area, console area and the driver locker area. Additionally, the new space will be named by fans who submitted over 4000 entries into Red Bull Racing Esports’ Playseat competition.

The training area features six F1 Esports Pro Series specification Playseats with Fanatec set-up and 240hz AOC screens, connected to a 9×9 video wall which displays data from the drivers.

Also included is a Citrix data dashboard for the Team Manager to monitor training and events.

The competition area offers triple screen set-ups and direct-drive wheelbases for additional force feedback, whereas the console area provides more of a relaxed envrioment, where the team can relax away from the virtual racetrack.

There will be opportunities for the public to hire the space on a select number of days each year, with fans being able to also take a tour of the Red Bull Racing facility in order to experience how the organisation’s esports drivers train.

Esports Insider says: This looks to be one of the more impressive training facilities in the United Kingdom. Red Bull Racing Esports Team drivers will certainly be licking their chops in anticipation of getting stuck into using the state-of-the-art setups to enhance their chances in the Formula 1 Esports Series.
