Publicly-traded gambling firm Esports Entertainment Group (EEG) has signed a multi-year deal with the Baltimore Ravens to serve as the NFL franchise’s esports tournament provider.
Per the agreement, EEG will operate esports tournaments on a bi-annual basis for the Ravens. Competitions will be facilitated through the Esports Gaming League (EGL) platform, which the gambling company completed the acquisition of in January.

Esports Entertainment Group CEO Grant Johnson commented on the deal in a release: “Our esports tournament platform continues to gain strong traction among top-tier professional sports franchises. We are delighted to add the Ravens as our latest partner. Our robust tournament platform will help the Ravens strengthen connections with their fans, while providing new avenues for engagement.”
EEG will additionally leverage Ravens player imagery and produce custom videos to promote its tournaments to the local market. Promotional materials will be deployed across Ravens’ digital marketing efforts spanning the franchise’s social, email, mobile, and online channels.
Baltimore Ravens Chief Sales Officer Kevin Rochlitz added: “The growing popularity of esports provides a great opportunity for our team to create deeper connections and engagement with our fans. We look forward to a long and mutually rewarding relationship.”

As a result of the deal, the Baltimore Ravens will become the fifth professional sports franchise to partner with Esports Entertainment Group. The first of which arrived in October 2020 when EEG inked a landmark deal with the LA Kings and Galaxy. The gambling operator followed up this deal with two Philadelphia-based sports franchises, the Philadelphia Union and Eagles.
On Tuesday, Esports Entertainment Group submitted its gaming license application with the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement. If approved, the license will be the company’s first in the US.
Esports Insider says: Esports Entertainment Group has been on a roll in the last twelve months, striking five key deals with top-flight US sports franchises which have generated some noise around the company. With a pending license in the Garden State to complement these deals, we expect matters to ramp up even further for EEG in the coming months.
