According to the press release, the purpose of the Betway Squad is to ‘deliver entertaining content for the Brazilian community’ whilst also solidifying ‘the company’s position as market leader’ in the region.
As a part of the deal, Betway ambassadors will engage with the personalities’ fan bases on both the talents individual streams and the Betway TV Twitch channel. The bookmaker plans to use Betway TV as a hub of activity with exclusive content, giveaways, watch parties and multi-game coverage planned.
Paul Adkins, Marketing & Operations Director at Betway spoke on the announcement: “We are thrilled to announce the ‘Betway Squad’ which brings together the most renowned and well-loved names in the esports community and we are excited to see the content they produce.”
Further showcasing Betway’s support of the Brazilian esports ecosystem, the bookmaker recently extended its sponsorship deal with Brazilian esports organisation MIBR for 2021. As a result, Betway will continue to be prominently featured on the front of MIBR’s jerseys. The renewal marks the fourth consecutive year that Betway has partnered with Immortals Gaming Club’s CS:GO esports brand.
Moreover, the gambling firm continues to stand alongside Brazilian multi-gaming platform Gamers Club, Ironclad, All33 and Overlock as partners of the organisation.
Esports Insider says: Betway has been focused on the Brazilian esports scene for some time now and it’s latest activations only confirm the bookmaker’s larger commitment in this market. It’ll be interesting to see how much attention Betway gains from its new ‘squad’ and if this will result in greater recognition for the brand among gamers in the region.
