North American esports organisation Immortals Gaming Club (IGC) has partnered with the National MS Society to aid the latter’s fundraising efforts.
As part of the partnership, IGC Events will plan and host a series of online tournaments and charity activations across multiple game titles in 2021.

Non-profit organisations have been hit especially hard during the COVID-19 pandemic, as demand for their services have risen but fewer donations have been made. The National MS Society traditionally holds its annual fundraising events in-person. Partnering with IGC is the Society’s way of building a more sustainable fundraising platform while building on the success of a previous online event.
Rachael Nuwash, Associate Vice President of Emerging Events, National MS Society, commented on the partnership in a release, saying: “The Society officially launched ‘Stream to End MS’ in May 2020 and it has shown great success. Immortals Gaming Club is helping the National MS Society bring this new and innovative fundraising campaign to the next level, meeting our constituents where they are and taking the Society into the future of fundraising.”

Nearly 1 million people in the United States live with multiple sclerosis, a disease of the nervous system that is unpredictable and often results in disability. Currently, there is no cure.
The National MS Society raises money for medical research, provides resources and support to those suffering from the disease, and advocates for patients.
Jeff Kuprycz, Vice President of Events at IGC, added: “Immortals Gaming Club is proud to partner with The National MS Society. The pandemic halted in-person activities for charitable organisations almost overnight. IGC’s Events division is thrilled to create virtual fundraising opportunities for The National Multiple Sclerosis Society and assist the Society’s entrance into the rapidly growing gaming industry in 2021.”

The National MS Society and IGC’s first joint stream is set for February 16th at 8pm EST. Guests will include Major League Baseball (MLB) players Dane Dunning, Lucas Giolito, Derek Holland, Carlos Rodon, Alec Marsh, Spencer Torkelson, Sam Tuivailala, and Tyler Clippard along with G2 content creator ‘Athena’ and popular streamer ‘chellchee.’

The non-profit sector has been hit especially hard during the pandemic and until there is a cure, MS will continue to impact lives for years to come.
