The RLCS X Lamborghini Open is Rocket League’s final North American regional event for its Spring Season.

During the tournament, scheduled to commence on April 23rd, Psyonix will introduce its Battle of the Bulls event, which sees Rocket League players compete in one-on-one matchups. According to the release, the winners will receive $5,000 and losing players will walk away with $1,000 for each match.

The announcement of Lamborghini’s involvement in Rocket League’s esports ecosystem follows on from Psyonix’s decision last week to cancel the 2021 Rocket League World Championships due to the pandemic.

Replacing the offline event is the RLCS X Championships, which consists of four separate tournaments to crown champions in Europe, North America, Oceania, and South America.

Psyonix also revealed that its partnership with Lamborghini will include in-game activations. According to the release, the car manufacturer’s Huracán STO model has been integrated into Rocket League and will be available to purchase on the Item Shop.

Huracán STO’s engine audio, two sets of Huracán STO Wheels, a Huracán STO Decal, Player Banner, and Antenna, plus a Lamborghini Antenna, have also been added to the store.

Lamborghini is not the first car brand to partner with Rocket League. In January 2021, Psyonix announced a deal with Ford to integrate its F-150 model into the game and present the Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS) X Winter Split.

Esports Insider says: Following the news of the Rocket League World Championship’s cancellation, it’s positive to see a brand like Lamborghini jump on board and partner a NA regional event. As Rocket League continues to gain popularity, we should expect to see more car brands integrate themselves into the game.
