Dallas-based esports organisation Envy Gaming has announced a partnership with Generation Esports, the founder and operator of the High School Esports League (HSEL) and Middle School Esports League (MSEL).
As a part of the deal, Envy Gaming has been named the exclusive professional esports partner of HSEL and MSEL in Texas. Moreover, the organisation will look to integrate its professional esports athletes, coaches, and content creators into the leagues.

Adam Rymer, CEO at Envy Gaming, spoke on the partnership in a release: “We want to champion the future generation of gamers in Texas. What attracted us to Generation Esports was the opportunity to create the best entry point and pipeline for young people to pursue their passions and get firsthand exposure to career paths in tech and esports.
“We believe in the positive influence gaming, and esports can have on the life of a student.”
According to the release, the partnership aims to increase participation in HSEL and MSEL tournaments and ‘foster the future generation of gamers in Texas’.
Both entities plan to expand the curriculum in the future and offer Texas students opportunities to interact with and learn from professional esports athletes and coaches, as well as content creators and influencers in Envy’s network.

Mason Mullenioux, CEO of Generation Esports, commented: “There are more than 42m gamers under the age of 18 in North America, compared to only 7m traditional student-athletes. Gaming is part of the everyday culture for students and is an equaliser today. The jocks, the nerds, it doesn’t matter – they all play games. Our programmes help empower healthy competition with inclusivity and respect.”
Along with Envy Gaming, Generation Esports also works with the Varsity Esports Foundation and Envy Foundation, which helps provide grants and gaming hardware to schools across Texas.
The organisation operates in 3,400 schools across the U.S., and after its $10.8m (∼£7.77m) investment in its Series A for expansion, Generation Esports intends to scale up its offerings in Texas.
Esports Insider says: This partnership reflects Envy Gaming’s commitment to developing Texas’ esports sector. The organisation recently received a $40m investment in Series C round, which will undoubtedly bolster its efforts in this regard.
