Jaxon is an esports news application available for Samsung devices. The platform includes esports news, features and a CGI-character called Jaxon, as well as its esports calendar.

Due to its agreement with Abios, the esports calendar will enable users to see upcoming or recent matches of selected games and check out results and live scores. Speaking to Abios, Sebastian Gastl, the Strategic Projects Manager at Upday, also stated that users will soon be able to use the calendar to check out match statistics.

In an interview with the data platform, Gastl said: “We just released the first public version, which basically is an Early Access version of Jaxon. In late August 2021 we will release a major update, which shall bring several extra features and improvements, including in-depth calendar statistics powered by Abios.

“After that, we plan to focus on a different set of community features to make the app even more engaging. Looking forward, the vision for Jaxon mid-term is to become the best and most widely-used esports news app in Europe.”

2021 has been a hectic year for Abios, with the firm strengthening its esports output over the last few months. This year the data platform has secured partnerships with the likes of Gambit Esports and Clarion Gaming. Moreover, the company has expanded its FIFA services and launched a player age compliance solution.

On the partnership, Linus Norman, Abios’s Senior Key Account Manager, commented: “Upday is a leading news platform and we’re happy to help them in their venture into the esports scene. In our first conversation with Upday, we understood their ambitions and visions for the app. We are very happy and proud that Upday chose Abios as their data partner and we are looking forward to a long and fruitful partnership.”

Esports Insider says: Prior to the partnership, Jaxon already looked to be a useful service for Samsung users interested in esports. The agreement with Abios looks to further enhance the application’s user experience by providing statistics within its calendar feature in the near future. Jaxon’s development is certainly worth keeping an eye on.
